The St. James Theatre is the newest in town, purpose built with modern techniques and materials for an excellent experience. The theatre seats 312 people and the smaller St James Studio, attached, has a capacity of just 100. There’s a single block of seats in the main auditorium of the main theatre, which rises steeply as you go towards the back and delivers good stage views. There are a maximum of eight seats in rows A to F, four per row from row G backwards, and the seats curve gently around the stage.
There’s enough legroom wherever you sit as long as you sit up straight, with seats G1 and 23 offering extra leg space and good views of the stage throughout. The best views in the house are in rows C, D, E, F and G, with rows D and E at a premium price.
The studio theatre contains a variable mix of seats and tables and there’s also a VIP gallery up top, where good legroom and good views from the long side and upper gallery are amongst the most popular. Access is excellent and there’s a lift at ground floor level.
